Mohamed Fouiteh is a Moroccan artist born on May 18th, 1928 in the city of Fez.

He grew up with a great passion for music despite the hardships that his family was going through at that era. Fouiteh took the responsibility of supporting his family when he was still young. He performed in weddings and other gatherings at night.

In 1951, he travelled to France and started working as an instrument player in clubs and saloons. He offered his services to Algerian and Tunisian artists as a contractor, but soon he met Youssef Wahbi and Mohamed Abdel Wahab, who collaborated with him in few singles.

In 1953, Fouiteh met a great success with the song “Aw Maloulou” which was of his own lyrics and composition. In 1955, he wrote the song “Melli bkit ana” which was a kind of tribute to the King Mohamed 5th , after the return of the latter from exile.

In 1960, he returned to Morocco where he collaborated with most artists of that era. In fact, he became one of the most prominent and dominant figures of the Music scene. He composed songs for artists like Maati Benkacem, Bahija Elidrissi and Abdou Cherif.

Mohamed Fouiteh died on September 18th, 1996, leaving behind a great number of albums and a rich profile full of eternal songs, awards, and tributes. Among his singles we hold as examples: “Meli Mchity”, “Al Hbib”, “El Bergui”, “Lachgar”, and “Hani hany”.
