Yass Khther is an Iraqi artist born in the Holy city of Najaf, Iraq, in 1938. He is often called “Sawt Al ardh”, translated into English as “the sound of Earth”.

Yass appeared on the scene in the late 1960’s. At that time he met the great composer Mohamed Jawad Alamouri, and they together released the song “Alhadl”.
